Counting Down the Days to the Rugged Run for Respect
Special Olympics NY eagerly awaits the arrival of the First Annual Rugged Run for Respect!
Special Olympics is counting down the days to their first Rugged Run for Respect. The Rugged Run is a 5k obstacle course on Bristol Mountain in Canandaigua, New York this Saturday, August 18, 2012. The Rugged Run for Respect is sure to challenge every level of athlete with trails, mud and 14 unique obstacles that will test even the toughest of competitors. Whether you are a seasoned runner or triathlon expert, looking to add some spice to your training or wanting to try something new with your friends…this is the race for you!
Please join us for a ceremonial Law Enforcement Torch Run at the conclusion of the medal heats where we will feature our local public safety officers carrying the Flame of Hope, followed by remarks from Special Olympics New York’s President & CEO, Neal J. Johnson and Special Olympics athlete Amanda Vito. Amanda will also be running in the event. Tickets will be on sale for spectators who want to take the lift up the mountain to witness the run first hand. Come out and enjoy entertainment, food, beverages and a muddy finish at the Rugged Run for Respect. Special Olympics NY is excited about this monumental event and hope you will join us in celebration!!!
