Martinez, who is from Sullivan County and is coached by Melissa Ebeling, believes that the Special Olympics has helped him stay motivated as well keeping positive.

Over the Edge

More than 150 people went "Over the Edge" in 2010, while raising $170,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics New York. This premiere fundraiser is a unique opportunity for individuals to rappel off the side of a high-rise building and enjoying and relaxing at a great party afterwards.

In 2010, in Western New York, 90 people raised over $1,000 each for the unique opportunity to rappel down the side of the 27-story Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls.

Just a few weeks later, 70 people jumped at the chance to do the same at the Crowne Plaza in Albany. Following this terrific feat, our Edgers and their guests enjoyed a fantastic party on the ground.
